These are food storage items that I purchased online. “Rainy Day Foods” powdered milk, eggs, etc. from Walton Feed. Apack Ready Meal MREs from AmeriQual Group. Beans, Rice, Wheat, Oats stored in #10 cans with oxygen absorbers from the Latter Day Saints (Mormons) at LDSCatalog.com and WaltonFeed.com.

We will cover buying food in bulk and making your own portions and how to store it in another article.

I believe we all should be prepared with at least one year of food stored for each member of your household. Don’t try to do this all at once and keep good records of when the food was purchased.

Be sure to have an area with all the qualifications of food storage with it set up for easy access. However, you can store small amounts in your closet, under your bed or in your food pantry/cabinets.

By the way, keep this food storage area a secret! Otherwise you will be hit with many others that did not prepare, wanting your food if it does become necessary to access food storage for survival. You could even be a target of robbery or worse if everyone knows you have a food storage and the proverbial “Poop” hits the fan.
